anyway thursday was quite a boring day. no one wants to buy my deck! so i made a resolution to stop wasting money on pokemon tcg. (besides, i'm unlucky with booster packs - can only look on while everyone gets the holo cards.
we had an interesting PE lesson: javelin! it was so like a modern mini-spear - coolios! i actually made two good throws (good meaning that it actually made a mark, 80% of the class throws just made mini-flips/spins in the air before landing SIDEWAYS.) wow there was this pro guy whose javelin went into the grass 90 degrees vertical and dug in like half a metre into the grass! shish kebab.
on friday i forgot about the excursion to the MINDS school! well the excursion was part of our ongoing "module" on intelligence - been reading books like Flowers for Algernon and attending intelligence forums (read the book! it's quite nice). in case you don't know MINDS is an organization which operates 5 schools for the intellectually disabled aged 4 - 18. the school in question was Towner Gardens School (which was the nicest name among the five - better than Yio Chu Kang Gardens School and Jurong Gardens School!)
so we got to mingle with the students. it was so funny! we kept turning to classmates and saying things like, "What is your name? This is Mark and Nigel and I am Matthew, and we've come to visit from Raffles Institution." then we came up with a Raffles Gardens School.
it's quite sad really. there was this girl who got "mad" when she saw us and started jumping up and down. apparently some of them will react to crowds badly.
in our week 10 gep camp we shall be hosting some of them! and every class is supposed to come up with games.
i want to go for the nanyang camp thing! don't really know what's it about, but at least i can get to meet everyone again! and fool around with proceedings.
