Monday

woah = the reaction you get when it's your first day in a top school, and find out that everyone from the principal to the seniors are COOL! (can't say the same for some gaylord classmates though.)

i REALLY managed to wake up! at 5.59am. even though i couldn't sleep until 10.40 yest. anyway my stupid kaypoh sister (on leave today) went with us in the car! dad drives me and mom to school+work.

geez. jam, so i reached at like 7.20 sharp. almost everyone was there! took a place in front where there were no fellow nyps/potential gays/nerds. we went to the hall for some briefing where we met the new principal. Bob Koh is hardly a name for a Raffles principal (wonder what his CHINESE name was), but he was quite funny lah.

so then. recess time! i took some western food. not the best there is. fried fish too oily, hash brown too burnt.

then we met the two form teachers! ours were both female, and deja vu-ly, the chinese teacher was pregnant. spare me!!! probably due soon, by the looks of it. they were also quite nice. so while some people around me were doing admin work, i was enjoying the aircon! (and filling up the occasional form or two.)

[the guy beside me is not too bad. Chester Tan. before this i thought all Chesters were fat and greedy. but anyway this guy is quite a born monitor. offered to do this and that for the teacher. and he knows quite a lot, and is darn enthusiastic about watches. discussed them with a senior. and here's a quote: "In recent times, watches are not just timepieces. They can also be appreciated!" or something like that. his conversation partner did something of a yawn. as in, "boring!" or even "crap."]

so we had MORE briefings, some icebreaker games organized by peer support leaders, a school tour which was utterly boring - we had this during the open house! hooray! 1.35pm, and dismissal.

oh, and i forgot about the orientation pack! stress ball, fake made-in-china "nike" bottle, book called "The Eagle Breeds The Gryphon" (history of rj and ri, they give it every year), torch light, box file, towel and others. omg - they're getting richer by day! also, there's a camp shirt that they'll give later. gee!
