yay! raffles is funnnnn! let's see... all the teachers are nice (i can only speak for the geps though), the classmates okay, the library, canteen food, vending machines etc - ichiban!
talking about jap, the first two jap lessons (at moelc) were quite cool. we've learnt like numbers, and basic words like 'house', 'umbrella' stuff so far. and greetings! ohayou gozaimasu, konnichiwa, konbanwa, sayounara jazz. and at least i had 5 other people i know. 2 from my class, 2 from nanyang, and 1 called... kenneth goh. say no more.
and yes. the Junior Rafflesian Investiture Ceremony! basically it's just a flashier way than saying 'badge-pinning for all scruffy sec1s.' (and of course that happened to be my unlucky day. i forgot my specs, and later ALMOST lost my fugging wallet.)
hoo boy! i actually went for the waterpolo trial! we were assessed in 3 areas: freestyle, treading water, throwing ball. my freestyle stinks, yes, haven't swam it for. 1 year? i got a C+. tread water, A. (yay! good thing i practiced treading water a few days before.) for the throwing ball part, it was quite hard. i definitely expected much worse than B. oh well! it's probably a no-chancer anyway. shall try table tennis or something...
for the merit ccas (raffles trail part 2 today): i'm definitely in for rafflesian times. wow, they only publish once a term, so it's slackers paradise! i can even join some other club. chess club consists of international, chinese, and weiqi. (of course you have to choose one.) or even math club - discounts for stuff like smops! though probably too nerdy (gays like kenneth g+jeremy are joining. bah!) there's always cyber studios club! you create your own games on programs such as flash. why, the rpg was fun! though quite limited. the space game (as in outer space) was not bad too.
hullett memorial library rools! for bragging's sake, it's the oldest library in sg, and apparently NLB got its origins from there! heh. you can rent notebooks, dvds to view in the media resource room, and computers at some corner! but sadly, the surfpool comps (surfpool's the "some corner" mentioned) are ALL windows 98 and lag like shit! hmmph.
gee. singapore's so near to their second tiger cup victory! i've finally turned up the patriotism a little, and am rooting for singapore (that's what 6 years of national anthem should do! ;]). though indon could do another great away win.
sigh. have a goosebumpy feeling that raffles programme is going to be tough. esp with "research education", which is actually IRS. and plus some core cca......
